June Wrap-up!

.................................................................................................................................................

This past month was a really interesting month for reading, I read a few ARCs and finally read some that I've been trying to get through for a while.

Going into this book, I was really excited, I've always been interested in whole Anastasia theory and just her family in general. Unfortunately, this book left me feeling icky and still just lost with the whole story.

Okay so, I once said I had no interest reading books about witches, but this book might've changed my mind. This was one of those books that you read as an ARC and it's extremely hard to describe everything you liked with describing the entire plot.

It took me 3 months to read this book, and that's probably the longest it's ever taken me to read a book. The whole reason I was excited about this book was because it supposed be set during the french revolution, but it was never mentioned.

Going into this book, I was thrilled at the idea of YA book revolving around a floral shop, with the family history of WWII, but I finished this book without any of that. This book ended with so many loose ends that I could used them to tie a bow, and I did not like it.

I've never been one to read books set in space, but this one was actually pretty good! Something about this book's first few chapters just grabbed my attention. As much as I enjoyed this book, I will say, it did get a little confusing towards the end.

I had a lot of problems with this book, I felt like Zappia was trying to get kids to sympathize with Eliza and how her parents didn't understand why she was on the computer so much, but I definitely sided with her parents. I would never talk to my parents that way and seeing a character do so made me uncomfortable.

There is nothing that makes me more uncomfortable then reading a book and knowing one or more of the characters are blatantly lying to one another, so I did not enjoy this book.

I thought this was gonna be a cute book with teens cooking and exploring France, but it was just two people who barely knew one another fighting over them hanging out with other people.

Thanks for reading! What books did you read
in June?

  1. I'm feeling kinda sad because I had so many hopes for Romanov... :( Also, Aurora Rising seems so good so I think I'll add it to my TBR.

Books I've Judged by Their Covers

Charlotte Holmes Series by Brittany Cavallaro This series was on display at my library and I picked up the first book, not only is the cover beautiful but the books are intriguing, have interesting characters and mysteries. .................................................................................................................................................... The Sun is Also a Star and Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon These books are gorgeous and as soon as I finished reading them, I immediately wanted copies for myself, if even only to display. To Kill a Kingdom by Alexandra Christo This cover is to die for, the color of the background is gorgeous. I really enjoyed the book, I didn't know, but it was a modern retell
