The Cruel Prince by Holly Black Review

“This is what you wanted, isn’t it?” he asks. “What you sacrificed everything for. Go on. It’s all yours."

Jude and her sisters live in the Court of Faerie, only they're outsiders, known as mortals to the rest of the Court. Jude wants nothing more then to belong, but many of the fey despise humans. As Jude becomes more deeply embroiled in palace intrigues and deceptions, she discovers her own capacity for trickery and bloodshed. But as betrayal threatens to drown the Courts of Faerie in violence, Jude will need to risk her life in a dangerous alliance to save her sisters, and Faerie itself.

I started reading this book last month and stopped because I just wasn't feeling it, but I'm SO glad I picked it up again! The Cruel Prince's plot is a slow-going at first, but once it does pick up, it's definitely worth the wait. The world is extremely well built along with a fair amount of spying, along with royalty of course. I love when an author is so descriptive that I can picture little details.

Cardan is someone who you hate, but then immediately start to get to love him. I felt like he had an interesting and well thought out character background.

“If I cannot be better than them, I will be so much worse.”

Jude made of mischief, flawed and the writing eventually shows she's someone who's selfish, but you can't help but want for her plans to succeed. On the other hand, her sister is a piece of work, who I hate and will probably continue to hate, along with Locke.

I think it's amazing how descriptive an author can be can make you feel such strong emotions for certain characters, that's how I know I'm reading an amazing book by an amazing author.

The last line of this book had to be one of the best final lines I've ever read. It made me love the book even more and made me want The Wicked King immediately.

P.S I love this cover with all my heart...

Now Entering Addamsville by Francesca Zappia ARC Review

Now Entering Addamville by Francesca Zappia ★★ ★ Zora Novak has been framed. When someone burns down the home of the school janitor and he dies in the blaze, everyone in Addamsville, Indiana, points a finger at Zora. Never mind that Zora has been on the straight and narrow since her father was thrown in jail. With everyone looking for evidence against her, her only choice is to uncover the identity of the real killer. There’s one big problem—Zora has no leads. No one does. Addamsville has a history of tragedy, and thirty years ago a similar string of fires left several townspeople dead. The arsonist was never caught. Now, Zora must team up with her cousin Artemis—an annoying self-proclaimed Addamsville historian—to clear her name. But with a popular ghost-hunting television show riling up the townspeople, almost no support from her family and friends, and rumors spinning out of control, things aren’t looking good. Zora will have to read between the lines of Addamsville’s...
