Serpent & Dove by Shelby Mahurin Review + 5 Reasons Why You Should Add This Book to Your TBR

Bound as one to love, honor, or burn.

Two years ago, Louise le Blanc fled her coven and took shelter in the city of Cesarine, forsaking all magic and living off whatever she could steal. There, witches like Lou are hunted. They are feared. And they are burned.

Sworn to the Church as a Chasseur, Reid Diggory has lived his life by one principle: thou shalt not suffer a witch to live. His path was never meant to cross with Lou's, but a wicked stunt forces them into an impossible union—holy matrimony.

The war between witches and Church is an ancient one, and Lou's most dangerous enemies bring a fate worse than fire. Unable to ignore her growing feelings, yet powerless to change what she is, a choice must be made.

And love makes fools of us all

Okay, so I once said that I had no interest in reading books about witches, but this book changed my mind.

When you read a book you really enjoy before it comes out, it's extremely hard to describe everything you loved without giving it away, but here goes.

I adore our main characters in this book and how they get along with each other. Louise is that girl who acts like she didn't need any help without being annoying, and she honestly doesn't need anyone's help her and I'm here for it!

I finished this 528 page book in 2 days, which shows that not only were t
he plot twists in this book  extremely unexpected, and they had me on the edge of my seat.

Another thing I liked this book was how it was a book about witches without really being in your face about it. Yes it is definitely the main plot of the book, but there is so much more going on in the story, and it keeps you intrigued.

After finishing this book, I really want the second book, but unfortunately, since I read this as an ARC, not only do I have to wait until the next book releases, I have to wait until Serpent & Dove releases, and I know I'm going to be doing a lot of waiting.

I received an Advanced Readers Copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Now, Zora must team up with her cousin Artemis—an annoying self-proclaimed Addamsville historian—to clear her name. But with a popular ghost-hunting television show riling up the townspeople, almost no support from her family and friends, and rumors spinning out of control, things aren’t looking good.
