15 Bookish Facts about Me!

1. I have never read the Harry Potter series
I don't really have any need to read these books, there are so many amazing books that there that I'd rather read instead, no offence, but it's not just my cup of tea.

2. I watched The Hunger Games movie before I read the books.
The story behind this is that I was just channel surfing on TV and The Hunger Games was on and I started watching it and got to around where Clove and Katniss meet near the end of the book, and then I had plans to go out, so I didn't get to see what happened, so I read the books, which I absolutely loved and introduced me to YA.

3. YA is all I'll read
Right now, I have no need to read any other genres, I don't read middle grade and just do not like the writing for adult fiction, so YA my happy place.

4. The first John Green book I read was Turtles All The Way Down
Last year, I decided to read as many books as I could and Turtles was a book available at my library and it seemed interesting, so I got it and I'm so glad I did! It was my favorite book I read last year.

5. I will rate books one star
Currently, I have 18 books on my Goodreads that I've rated one star. If I didn't like a book, I will not rate it two stars just to not have it be a one star book, I'm going to be honest.

6. I hate love triangles
I cannot stand books that have love triangles, it's just so unnecessary, and I hate the way the girl or guy in the middle of triangle acts between their choices.

7. I once read 8 books in one day
For me, a road trip is the perfect way to read, if I have a long car drive ahead of me, I will load up on books and read one after the other, and it's great to just be able to read endlessly.

8. I find it easier to write a book review for a book I hated over a book I loved
It's much harder to type up everything I loved and put it into a coherent review then it is to slam a book about all the different reasons I hated a book.

9. There was a time when all I would read was YA dystopian
I was in one of weirdest reading slumps, where all I was interested in was dystopian, so I read The Maze Runner series, Divergent series, Matched series, The Uglies series, and the Delirium series....I'd not proud of my dystopian past.

10. I only started full blown YA reading at the beginning of 2018
I recently moved and at my old library, they did not have the best selection of books, and the library where I live now, is amazing! It looks like a Barnes and Noble, due to the amount of books it has for check out.

11. I now prefer stand-alones to series
I used to not read a book if it wasn't part of a series. Now, I adore stand-alones, especially fantasy stand-alones such as Warrior of the Wild, which I recently read and rated 5 stars.

12. I won't read books set in space
I've just never been one for books set in space, I don't know why, but it just does not sit well with me!

13. I do not like covers with people's faces on them
I feel like it destroys the way your imagination works with making up how you picture a person.

14. I have a hard time DNF'ing books
I just recently started DNF'ing books, and it's really freeing to not read a book I'm not enjoying! I actually just posted an article about DNF'ing books, if you want to read it here!

15. My first favorite book was Charlotte's Web
This was the first book I read that actually got to me, and I loved the whole story and everything about it!
