Famous in a Small Town by Emma Mills Review

39280480
For Sophie, small town life has never felt small. With her four best friends—loving, infuriating, and all she could ever ask for—she can weather any storm. But when Sophie’s beloved Acadia High School marching band is selected to march in the upcoming Rose Parade, it’s her job to get them all the way to LA. Her plan? To persuade country singer Megan Pleasant, their Midwestern town’s only claim to fame, to come back to Acadia to headline a fundraising festival.

The only problem is that Megan has very publicly sworn never to return.

What ensues is a journey filled with long-kept secrets, hidden heartbreaks, and revelations that could change everything—along with a possible fifth best friend: a new guy with a magnetic smile and secrets of his own.

SPOILERS

I received this ARC as a part of Miss Print's ARC Adoption Program

I honestly love this book so much and I have no clue the exact root of my love for it, but I do know that I enjoyed this book and I'm definitely going to be reading more Emma Mills books.

The friendships in this book were just amazing and they were there for each other and admitted it when they were jerks, which is something you hardly find in YA books.

August and Sophie's relationship just happened so perfectly, and I absolutely adored the way he just fit in with the friend group. I also liked how the relationship wasn't the main focus of the book, it was a side plot, along to a very wild and crazy plot.

The boots song just cracked me up and I couldn't stop thinking about it, even after I finished reading the book.

Going into this book, I didn't really know what the main plot of the book was, all I knew was that I loved this cover and that's all I really needed to know. The story-line just worked so well, even though it's a plot that would probably never work any other way and no other author could've pulled off this well.

Sophie's relationship with the kids she babysits and their parents was just the cherry on top for this book. It makes me so happy when characters in books have positive relationships with people that aren't really considered as friends, but treat you so well!

Overall, I adored everyone and everything in this book and I can't wait for Mills' next book.

Now Entering Addamsville by Francesca Zappia ARC Review

Now Entering Addamville by Francesca Zappia ★★ ★ Zora Novak has been framed. When someone burns down the home of the school janitor and he dies in the blaze, everyone in Addamsville, Indiana, points a finger at Zora. Never mind that Zora has been on the straight and narrow since her father was thrown in jail. With everyone looking for evidence against her, her only choice is to uncover the identity of the real killer. There’s one big problem—Zora has no leads. No one does. Addamsville has a history of tragedy, and thirty years ago a similar string of fires left several townspeople dead. The arsonist was never caught. Now, Zora must team up with her cousin Artemis—an annoying self-proclaimed Addamsville historian—to clear her name. But with a popular ghost-hunting television show riling up the townspeople, almost no support from her family and friends, and rumors spinning out of control, things aren’t looking good. Zora will have to read between the lines of Addamsville’s...
